The quality
of the Wildhorse site design and architecture sets a new standard
for Steamboat Springs. A generous use of stone will complement
the rustic look of various metals and heavily textured &
colored concrete plaster.
Eight buildings with “four-sided” architecture,
reduces the overall scale of the development to the pedestrian
level. The final element of the architectural layering involves
a periodic awning, canopy and signage structure that allows
ease of tenant recognition, shelter for the pedestrian and
a human scale to the streetscape.
Impressive retail displays are possible with 12 foot high
storefronts. Interiors are expansive with clear heights of
11 feet in most spaces, vaulting to over 20 feet some locations.
The buildings, the streetscape and the auto are integrated
via the use of the streetscape, the tree-lined walking and
auto path. This allows for a complementary relationship between
direct auto access to the stores and restaurants, and casual
and comfortable walking, shopping and dining.
